One In Ten by Elisabeth Pearson

"Millions in voter ID nightmare." That was the headline this week in Politico. According to a new report that looked at 10 states with new voting restrictions, one in 10 eligible voters do not have the proper photo ID required to cast a ballot.
That's millions of eligible voters in battleground states whose right to vote could be in jeopardy due to these new laws passed by Republicans.
Republican attempts at voter suppression are having their desired effect, but we still have time to fight back.
The DGA is teaming up with the DLCC to ensure that our voters can overcome these obstacles thrown up by Republicans. Join us in telling the Republicans to stop disenfranchising eligible voters.
Republicans know that if they can suppress Democratic turnout in key states, they can win more governorships, control of Congress, and the White House. Their strategy is a cynical one, but it will work if we fail to fight these laws and educate people about the new laws.
Wisconsin's Republican Governor Scott Walker passed a restrictive photo ID law last year, claiming that it would be easy for citizens to comply.
As it turns out, one ID office in Sauk City, Wisconsin is open only on the fifth Wednesday of any month -- but only four months in 2012 have that fifth Wednesday. Tactics such as this one are clearly just meant for one purpose -- to keep voters away from the polls.
It's a classic example of Republicans saying one thing and doing another. They say they want fair elections, but what that really means is elections that are fair for their voters.
Join our joint Voter Protection Project with the DLCC right now and we'll make sure you stay updated and informed about everything that's happening in these states.
We can fight back and protect the right to vote, but we need your help to do it.
